Ballarat Golf Club petition - Alliance for Gambling Reform

Ballarat Golf Club petition

To the VCGLR,

Last month, the City of Ballarat saw the largest monthly losses from poker machines in 3 years. Poker machines took nearly $5.1 million dollars from the Ballarat community last month alone. That's nearly $170,000 each day.

The Ballarat Golf Club has applied for 6 additional poker machines to add to their existing 28. They already take $2 million from the community through their pokies. If successful, the increase will lead to more harm and higher losses.

This kind of greed will cause great harm to the Ballarat community, it will likely lead to increased rates of family violence, mental health issues and crime. It will suck money from local businesses and restrict potential for investment in new and exciting businesses.

Please reject this application for 6 additional poker machines in our community!!
