Sign the Petition to Keep Pokies out of Bendigo!

Dear Bendigo Stadium board-

You claim to be a community club, so now it's time for you to listen to the community. Your club should stick to the sports business, not get into the pokies hotel business.

The Wellington Hotel is in close proximity to the Holy Rosary Primary School. The Bendigo community does not want pokies to be normalised for local kids. We know the harm that pokies can cause: poverty, addiction, and aggravating mental health struggles as well as increasing the risk of family violence. We do not want this in our community and you cannot claim to be a community-oriented club whilst exacerbating harm from pokies in the Bendigo community.

Withdraw your appeal to VCAT: don't waste hundreds of thousands of dollars on an appeal you will lose.

We don't want more pokies in Bendigo!

Will you sign?

Bendigo Stadium recently applied for 44 new pokies in the Wellington Hotel. After the community mobilised against the application, the VCGLR (the licensing regulator) decided to reject the application and it was a great success for the community! Now it’s time to make sure that the Bendigo Stadium knows it should not appeal this case to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).

The Bendigo Stadium claims to be a community club, now it's time for them to listen to the community. They should stick to the sports business, not get into the pokies hotel business.
