We encourage our children to play sports, especially Australian Rules Football, and the price the children will pay for that is to face a barrage of gambling advertising associated with the sport they love.
Shame on the AFL for signing a five year deal with BetEasy to allow gambling advertising to be associated with AFL football. We encourage our children to play sports, especially Australian Rules Football, and the price the children will pay for that is to face a barrage of gambling advertising associated with the sport they love. We should not allow the AFL to normalise gambling in the thinking of children yet that is exactly what will happen when children watching football associate gambling with their sport. Gambling causes incredible harm to families and individuals in the community.
I would like to know how much of the $50 million the AFL will receive over the next five years will be put into educating children on the inherant dangers of gambling. In my opinion no amount of money that the AFL get from gambling advertising is worth corrupting and distorting innocent childrens understanding of what is acceptable just because it is asscociated with their sport, football.Do the AFL really care about our kids or are they only interested in money and to hell with the children.
