Young people’s perceptions of gambling advertising, marketing, and sponsorship

Deakin University are looking to speak to young people aged 12-17 years in NSW and Victoria about gambling advertising, promotions, and sponsorship. The focus group will explore topics such as young people’s attitudes about gambling, where young people see gambling marketing and their attitudes towards this, thoughts about specific marketing strategies such as the use of celebrities and sponsorship, and what young people think should be done to protect young people from gambling marketing. Participants get a $50 voucher as a thank you for their time. Siblings and friends are most welcome to participate in the focus group study together. Read the information flyer here, and find the ethics consent form here
Anyone interested is encouraged to contact Dr McCarthy by email: [email protected]

Interviews/focus groups will be conducted until around mid-April 2022
