Gambling Royal Commission
Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition,
A bank won't give you a mortgage without proof of income or identity, but big gambling firms will take millions from you before confirming who you are or asking if you're able to afford it.
This is just the latest in a series of scandals involving Crown Casino, Woolworths owned pokie-pubs, clubs and sports gambling firms skirting privacy, consumer protection and anti-money laundering laws.
The gambling industry is rife with serious issues that need the powers of a Royal Commission to reveal the true scale of the problems, and what should be done to deal with them.
Show the leadership that is required on this issue and support a Royal Commission into the gambling industry today!
The ABC Investigations team has once again exposed practices that would be considered completely unacceptable in any other industry. Allegations of staff trading in customer details and skirting privacy, consumer protection and anti-money laundering laws all in the name of profit.
This is undoubtedly just the tip of the iceberg. Join us in calling for a Royal Commission to uncover the extent of harm, unethical practices and political influence exercised by the multi-billion dollar gambling industry.
