The Geelong Polish Community Association (White Eagle House) recently applied for 43 more poker machines to add to their existing 35 machines.
The Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) rejected the application on the basis that there would be a detrimental impact on the Geelong community and the Geelong Polish Community Association is considering appealing the decision to VCAT.
It is critical that community members ask the Geelong Polish Community Association to accept VCGLR's decision and not appeal. The venue costs the community almost $1.7 million every year. There are already 296 pokies at five venues within 2.5kms of the venue.
Geelong doesn't need any more pokies!
