Write to Melton Council to Stop Essendon's Pokie Future

Over the last year, we're seeing more AFL clubs than every before commit to getting out of pokies as a means of funding their footy. Essendon Bombers seem to be attempting to do the opposite.

They currently own 190 poker machines which over the last year, took $11.55 million out of the community!

And now, they're attempting to extend the lease for the Melton Country Club- home to 89 pokies until 2042!

That's locking in a pokie future for 24 years!

Melton is in the lowest category for socio-economic disadvantage possible, meaning it is among the poorest areas in Australia. Melton is also one of the fastest growing councils, in terms of population, in the country.

It's an area vulnerable to harm from poker machines and Essendon Bombers shouldn't be trying to profit from that.

We've already written to Essendon FC but now we want to make sure the Council rejects the proposal! We don't have much time until they decide next week so send a letter to the City of Melton Councillors NOW!
