GAMBLING LOSSES FOR THE AREA
|Northern Beaches||Period||Losses||Poker Machines||Premises|
|Club||2nd half of 2020||$52,449,165||1748||29|
|Club (with Woollahra)||1st half of 2021||$44,750,106||1794||32|
NSW Liquor and Gaming bundle together the data for neighbouring council areas if, in one or more of those areas, there are less than 5 venues of a type. These bundled groups are not consistent from one half year to the next, nor are they necessarily the same for pubs and clubs. It makes it very difficult to establish losses in individual council areas which do not have many gambling pubs or clubs.

Which of the policies referred to in our Candidate Information Pack do you support?
What is your position on poker machine policy?
Support gambling free public spaces
Back gambling free community space
Stop the expansion of gambling in ours suburbs and towns
I support all of the policies except perhaps giving control to the LGA's. I think it should be a State role however I do see there could be benefits in some LGAs.
I support the policies and advocacy actions suggested in the resources. I would make decisions as a councillor based on the principle of reducing the number of pokies.
Councils have the closest connection to community. Councils must be able to refuse a development application on the grounds that poker machines being installed in a building. Councils must have a right of appeal over decisions.
to consider 50% of Aus pokies are in NSW is incredible. The inclusion of pokies in hotels, that have no social responsibility or connection to community is devastating. this deceiving addiction is simply lining the pockets of the wealthy at the detriment of the community.
I support all of these policies, and pledge to support these policies if elected.
Banning all gambling advertising sponsorships and marketing!!
All relative to the LGA ask.
All of them. I would try to make submissions on every application lodged, even when an Local Impact Assessment is not required. I believe Northern Beaches Council, where it is within its powers, should not allow new gambling outlets and do all it can to discourage the continuation of current outlets and operation of EGMs
