What is your position on poker machine policy?
I think councils should have a large degree of influence when it comes to poker machines it’s the councillor who will see the impact particularly to disadvantaged areas not the legislators this way local ideas can be implemented. Larger state and federal legislation need to be in place to assist councillors. I would like to see a gradual fade out of poker machines but it needs to happen over the whole of the country otherwise people will travel for gambling and it will become like a tourism industry where LGA’s who don’t have tight restrictions will benefit
