Reg Dickinson Lake Nagambie Ban all gambling advertising. No more pokies for Vic.
Laura Binks Mt. Wombat  Our community in Strathbogie Shire displayed just as much opposition to pokies being introduced in Euroa as those supporting it. With dedication and hard work, those opposing the introduction of pokies won and had the planning approval reverse. We now have a gambling policy in our planning scheme.
I also have friends who work in social clubs which have pokies, and it is really interesting talking with them. I think we need a subsidised social club for all residents, especially the elderly, that can support essential community engagement, but does not rely on pokie revenue to keep the venue running. The online betting that is now so prevalent is very worrying as it is associated with all our sporting events and the profits all go overseas so we don't even get any fiscal benefit!
