Joe O'Keefe City Lived in WA for 38 years, great to not have Pokies. The cancer spread from NSW into Vic, ACT & SA. it is so part of fabric of NSW that it cannot be banned there. Should be banned by Vic and ACT. The only advantage of Pokies is seen in Adelaide. Inner city pubs in Perth demolished, whereas in SA funds from gambling addiction result in similar pubs being renovated, extended. As a Town Planner I believe local amenity should be up to local democracy, so if SA were to vote to retain them, knowing how they wreck lives, that must prevail. Addicts may shift to WA, hopefully, and even funded to move by Canberra.
